Ive been with State Farm since i started driving so every time the Army moved us I dutifully switched my policy but not anymore. My policy price doubled when we moved to New York and whenever i called to ask for the reason I was told that there were fees for switching. Alright, well that goes on for 3 months and in this time i call multiple times trying to figure out why and I either get the tired your rates will level out or they take my name and number and never call back. After 3 months of double payments (!!!!) I see a ten dollar drop and nope! Im out. I call to cancel and explain why and get immediate attitude. I was fine with paying a bit more to have a local office and an insurance i was used to but it was both obscenely priced and rude.
Not pleased with this office at all. We are a military family who moved to this area & wanted to have our policies transferred to a local agent. I kept calling & leaving our phone number & was told I would receive a call back. It took me calling 5 times to make it happen. So many excuses were told. I let it go, considering there aren't many other agents in the area. Then 10 months later we get a postcard in the mail saying we need to call them about a policy since they don't have our phone # on file. More complete & utter nonsense during this call. I am currently in the process of having our policies transferred back out of that office so I never have to deal with such bad customer service again.
SEPTEMBER! IT IS NOW OCTOBER 16TH AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHERE MY CAR IS, THEIR 'CANADA' TEAM DOESN'T HAVE A PHONE NUMBER THAT THEY CAN FIND, RIDICULOUS!!! THIS ACCIDENT, WHICH I BELIEVE TOTALED MY CAR - UM, DON'T KNOW BECAUSE NO ONE, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE WILL DEAL WITH THIS. I WAS ON MY WAY BACK HOME FROM VACATION AND ALL MY BELONGINGS ARE EVIDENTLY STILL IN MY CAR. THEY CANCELLED MY INSURANCE, AND IF YOU LIVE IN NEW YORK YOU KNOW THAT IF THE PLATES ARE NOT RETURNED YOU ARE FINED DAILY. I CAN'T EVEN GET THE FREAKING PLATES! IF I COULD GIVE LESS THAN ONE STAR ON THIS I WOULD - UNFORTUNATELY I NOW WILL HAVE TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY TO GET THIS DONE.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH !!!!! I HAD A CLAIM FILE ON SEPTEMBER 8TH, YES -
So I seen a review that is pretty much exactly what I'm going through. Moved here to NY and my price went up drastically. When I called to ask about these policy changes, I get the "Can we get your number, we'll call you back." This is the second time it has happened. I never had this problem with the State Farm agency I had at my previous duty station. I'm so over it and ready to change my insurance company.
This place is absolutely awful! My husband and I called about insuring a rental house we had and they never called back. We called them 3 times in 3 weeks and I finally had to go in in person to get anything accomplished! Then after everything was taken care of, finally, they tried to sell me life insurance for every member of our family.
